START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

Introduction
One of Newton’s laws of motion states: ‘All objects remain in a state of rest until a force is applied,” This may be true also of our aspirations in life. Things do not move until we move.

Action orientation is a major requirement for success. The question for most people however is:  “How do I start?” or “where do I start from?”  That is why I have made available this information; to help you overcome inertia and to get you moving in the direction of destiny. A job begun is a job half done.

The problem with most of us is that we feel we do not have what it takes to start. However, God will never allow things to degenerate around us to the point where He has nothing with which to move us to the next phase of our breakthrough. There will always be a seed in your life that God will use to meet the need of your life. There is a miracle around you waiting to be discovered. However, it is in the potential form.

For as long as you hold the belief that what you need to start is what you do not have, you will not start. And of course you cannot finish what you have not started. If you start early, you can finish early. But if you start late, you will finish late, if at all you still have enough time to finish.

I will be most fulfilled if after you have read this article, YOU START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

2 KINGS 4:1-7
“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbours empty vessels; do not gather just few.

And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”  And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

What do you do when you face crisis in life?
What do you do when you face seemingly insurmountable obstacles, the loss of job, a crumbling marriage or failing health? It may be when you just cannot cope with the bills. What do you do when you do not know what to do?

The widow in the above quoted bible passage ran to the man of God. This was a woman in a desperate financial situation. She was in a season of change; a season of fire. Her husband had just died. He left little or no assets. In fact he left liabilities. He owned so much money that his creditors refused to forgive him, even in death. They were about to take her two sons as slaves until she was able to pay up the debts.

It is puzzling the way the wind of change blows sometimes. The death of a breadwinner, downturn in the national economy, the loss of job or failure in business can sometimes result in deep financial crisis. The most constant thing in life is change.

We cannot stop the imminence of change, but we can decide our response to it. We fly of crawl in life depending on our attitude to change. So I ask you today, what do you do when you do not know what to do, in desperate situations or in your own season of change? This widow in her own case ran to the man of God.

What you need in a time of desperate need is a word from God. One word from God can turn your life around.
