IGNORANCE OF WHO YOU ARE...

Once upon a time, there was a young lion that got missing while following his mother around and was carried home by a hunter. The hunter dropped the young lion among the sheep and life for the lion continued. This lion will go out with the sheep to graze and drink water.
One day while drinking water the young lion saw a reflection of himself in the water, he saw himself different from the sheep, but there was nothing he could do to that. Every wild animal that threatened the sheep threatened him also, whenever they run for their dear life he would also run.
But one day, a mother lion came around where they were and roared, the sheep ran away, but the young lion said to himself “This is what I had always want to do”. I can also roar; the mother lion is like the picture of himself he saw while drinking the other day. Suddenly he opened his mouth and roared. He looked round only to see that the sheep had all run away. Then it dawned on him that he does belong to the lion group. And quickly, he made up his mind to follow the mother lion and never to return to the sheep fold again.

Many are ignorant of the precious things available to us in life.
There are different crisis confronting a man in life, but the greatest of the entire crisis is identity crisis; living in life without really identifying who you are and what is available to you.

“When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse of it is inevitable”

This above story reflects the state of many of us walking the surface of the earth.

Join me this Saturday at CCB, Centre for Capacity Building Lagos, as I help many discover their God given purposes and identifying their Assignment.

FAYOSE SALUTES BUHARI

SIGNATURE NEWS

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state and one of the arrowheads of President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign, has congratulated Muhammadu Buhari, describing the outcome of the presidential election as the will of God. Fayose famously raised health concerns over Buhari and engaged in an acrimonious media campaign against the retired general.

With results of the election showing Buhari taking an unassailable lead on Tuesday afternoon, Fayose issued a statement, saying “the election result is the will of God and Nigerians , and all lovers of peace, progress and development of Nigeria must accept it”. The governor said the election results should not been seen as victory or loss for any political party, adding:

“To me, Nigerians and democracy won.” Fayose said: “I salute Nigerians, especially the great people of Ekiti state. “I salute President Jonathan for laying the most solid foundation for democracy in Nigeria. And I salute Major General Buhari for being a resilient and dogged fighter.
“I urge Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation to respect the outcome of the election in the interest of peace, progress and development of the country.

“Nigeria as a country is greater than any individual or group and it is my plea that no one should do anything to rock the boat of peace in the country.”

Why I parted ways with Tinubu – Jimi Agbaje

SIGNATURE NEWS
Exclusive interview with the Jimi Agbaje

PDP gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje, in this interview, speaks on his aspiration.

Your emergence as the governorship candidate of your party was enmeshed in controversy. What effort did Chief Bode George contribute to your emergence?
If you remember, I ran for the governorship of Lagos State in 2007 on the platform of the DPA. That 2007 campaign generated significant goodwill and I retained interest in running for the office a second time. This time however I decided to use a stronger platform and engaged with ALL the leaders of PDP in Lagos State, including Chief Bode George, Chief Ogunlewe, the state Chairman, Captain Shelle, Rahman Owokoniran, who is now my campaign DG, Mrs Aduke Maina, Bode Oyedele, even Senator Obanikoro and many other leaders of the party. Most, indeed nearly all of the leaders were amenable to my candidacy and supported me in the primary election. Chief Bode George, of course, is one of the leaders and he supported us too, just like most of the other leaders.

Governor Raji Fashola has taunted you as being too old to govern the state. What is your reaction?
I think most Nigerians and Lagosians have answered the governor appropriately on that issue. If you look at his party’s governors in several states, some of whom are seeking re-election, they are my age-mates and some are my seniors. Their party is in fact presenting a man who is about 15 years older than me for the presidency. I am healthy, virile, agile and certainly very well prepared-mentally, intellectually, politically, policy and administration-wise and in any other way for the governorship of Lagos State.

You have gone round the 20 local governments holding townhall meetings in the state. What has been your message and how has the reception been?
The reception has been fantastic and certainly very encouraging. We decided to go to town halls to engage directly with our people before commencing our rallies. The town hall meetings are a very good opportunity to listen to the people, to feel their pains, to hear their complaints and suggestions and also to deliver our message of hope, shelter, trust and a government focused on the needs of the people to them. The reception has been very good and we think it has been a very worthwhile exercise.

The bad blood generated in your party by your emergence as the PDP candidate created so much apprehension about your party’s chances. Can we know the inside story of the mending of fences that resulted in the current unity of purpose in the party?
There is really no bad blood. It is to be expected in a democratic political system that some people may be unhappy about the outcome of party electoral processes. We have certainly put all that behind us now and we are all united by the imperative of reclaiming the freedom of our people in Lagos State. Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is fully behind our campaign and we are all working together, along with all other leaders of the party.

It has also been said that you are sitting on a tripod of god fathers, considering the powers believed to have been responsible for your emergence. What do you make of that?
I said categorically in an interrraction with the media and I repeat today-I have no, absolutely no godfather or godfathers. When I ran on DPA platform, who was my godfather? The reason they rejected our candidacy in the other party is because they knew we were not the kind of person that would accept to be a puppet or stooge for their designs. Acting under the commands and manipulation of a godfather is contrary to my personal inclinations and they know that. I proved that in 2007 . I have no godfather.
I will work with the members and leaders of the party and indeed the generality of the citizens of Lagos to govern Lagos responsibly and in the interest of our people, and not for the benefit of any godfather. Lagosians actually know on what side of the divide they should be worried about godfathers and god sons or puppeteers and puppets!

You have said that if elected governor, you will retain 37 LCDAs in the state. Don’t you think doing that would contravene your party’s stance on the matter?
It doesn’t. Our position today is that we have moved on, on the issue of 57 LGAs/LCDAs. I certainly would retain the 37 LCDAS. In fact even our party structure recognises those LCDAs.

Your proposed reversal of some policy actions of the APC administration has come under criticisms, from those who argued that you are not bringing anything new to the table.
Yes I insist and reconfirm that there are some things that need to be reversed! I certainly would not collect toll on the Lagos-Epe Expressway which is no longer a PPP project as the state government has already bought out the interest of the private investors (for N30 billion more than the original amount even though the road was not completed!). The road was a pre-existing road, initially built with state resources and it is unfair to ask people to pay tolls to get to their homes and communities.

You said recently that PDP remains your last bus stop, what would you do if the governorship election goes the other way?
I am in this contest to win, and I believe that we will prevail. I am not countenancing the prospect of not winning.

You have been accused of being a mole for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the PDP. How true is this?
Of course that is absolutely without basis, and illogical! There can be no logical basis for any such hypothesis. I am not, and can never be a mole for anyone, certainly not for Bola Tinubu.

Also, when and why did you fall apart with Tinubu?
I think it is normal in politics for individual perceptions and interests to diverge. Bola Tinubu is not my enemy, but we are also not as close as we used to be. But I think that is the nature of politics. I think some politicians often get to a point where they want only subservient people around them. I don’t believe in that type of politics. I view politics as a sacrifice and service and I view it as the most honourable of vocations. I believe politics should actually be about truth, integrity and service.

APC seems to have outspent you in terms of campaign funding as the party’s candidate is visible in all parts of the state through adverts, posters and billboards. Are you having a funding challenge and is this not a threat to your aspiration?
No one expects us to match APC in terms of spending! They have ruled over Lagos for 16 years and some people have described this election as somebody’s attempt to have a fifth term! They have access to all the resources of Lagos State! Our campaign is resonating in the hearts and minds, the homes and communities across the state and, in spite of the noise and posters, we believe our campaign is gaining traction where it matters and I am convinced that we will prevail.

HOW TO MAKE GOD FIGHT FOR YOU

HOW TO MAKE GOD FIGHT FOR YOU
Pastor E.A Adeboye ( General Overseer of RCCG )

There are two categories of wars. There is the external war and there is internal war. If you ever fail to win the internal, you will forever be a loser if you win the internal war, then you can win any external war.

We can give examples of those who won their external war and lost the internal ones, making them internal ones, making them looser forever. When Moses came face to face with the Red Sea and the Army or Pharaoh, it was a big battle and there seemed to be no escape. However, in Exodus 14:13-14 Moses turned to the people and told them not to worry because the battle already won. He said the Lord would fight for them. By the following morning all the enemies that were there during the previous day had perished.

In exodus 17:8-13, we find out that when the Amalekites came against the children of Israel, defeating them as very easy for Moses, all he had to do was to lift up his hands and the enemies were defeated. However, Moses had an internal enemy, this was anger. For this reason, enemy defeated him. In numbers 20:12-12 be briefly lost control.
God told him to speak to the rock but he struck the rock. And God said because of this he would not get to the Promised Land. Moses failed at the last moment because he did not win his internal battle.

There is also the case of Samson. In Judges 14:5-6 we read that tearing a lion into two was a child play for him. It was as easy as tearing a little goat into two. Judges 15:14-16 we find out in the word of Samson “killed a thousand Philistines was a piece of cake. However in judges 16:18-21 the same mighty Samson had his eyes plucked out by the enemies that used to tremble at the mention of his name. Samson also could not win his private battle. His battle (internal enemy) was his lust for strange women. It was on his way to visit a strange woman that a lion attack him, yet he did not learn his lesson.

The gate of a city was shut against him as he was visiting a harlot in the enemy’s territory. The woman that finished him, Delilah was from among the Philistines. He just could not win the battle of the lust of strange women. So, the mighty Samson became a toy in the hands of Philistines.
What about David, the giant killer? In Samuel 17:45-51 he went against Goliath in the name of the Lord of host and he cut off the Goliath’s head. He however could not win his personal battle. In II Samuel 11:2-5, a beautiful woman killed the giant killer. He could have turn off his eyes when he saw the woman having her bath. In II Samuel 12:1-12 God told David that the sword will never depart from his house because of this sin. On the positive killed the giant killer. He could have turn off his eyes when he saw the woman having her bath. In II Samuel 12:1-12 God told David that the sword will never depart form his house because of this sin. On the positive side, we have some people who won their own private battles and as a result won external battles. They are Daniel, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego.
In Daniel 1:3-16 we are told that they were among those taken into slavery to Babylon. They were however picked to be specially trained to become counselors of the King. They were to be given food from the king's table. They however, refused the food because it was food also offered to idols. They opted for beans and water. They refused to defile themselves. They won their internal battles. They had control over themselves. It was therefore, no surprise when Daniel was thrown into lions den and the lion could not eat him. Because Daniel did not eat the king's meat, the king's lion could not eat Daniel. If you win your internal battle external battle will be of no consequence at all. It was no surprise that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego could not be burnt by fire when they were thrown into the fiery furnace.

If you win your own internal battle, then you can ignore all external battles because God almighty will fight for you. All the time that Moses, David and Samson were winning, it was because God was with them. They were on the side of the Lord and God was on their side. The moment they stepped aside from the Lord, the one that used to be angry became angry. The one that could not keep his eyes from women kept looking at women, and the one that was lusting went on lusting. Because Daniel, shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused anything that was not of God. God saw to it that anything that would annoy them would not happen. If you win your internal battle you will win every other battle.

When you read about somebody as great as Lot in Genesis 19: 15-22 you will find out that the almighty God is able to rescue you from Sodom and Gomorrah. However in Genesis 19:30-38 you will see that Lot ruined his generation because he could not stay away from wine.

The Almighty God can give you victory over anything that enemies can throw at you. He said no weapon fashioned against you form outside should prosper. However, when you fashion the weapon against yourself you should know what the result will be. If you live like the world, you will perish like the world. If you however stand aside from the world. If you however stand aside from the world the almighty will make sure that while the world is perishing you will be floating. You have to win this war not tomorrow but now. Until you take a decision that from now on there will be no more telling lies, no more cheating, no more fornication and adultery, no more anger. And unless you settle the matter once and for all your life will be in danger. The enemy will be watching trying to find out what is your weakness. As soon as the enemy discovers your weak spot he knows that he has you. If you don’t kill the killer within, the killer within will kill you.
What is your private battle?
Cry to God to help you and give you victory.

THE GOD OF UK IS THE SAME GOD OF AK

START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE - Sam Adeyemi

START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

Introduction
One of Newton’s laws of motion states: ‘All objects remain in a state of rest until a force is applied,” This may be true also of our aspirations in life. Things do not move until we move.

Action orientation is a major requirement for success. The question for most people however is:  “How do I start?” or “where do I start from?”  That is why I have made available this information; to help you overcome inertia and to get you moving in the direction of destiny. A job begun is a job half done.

The problem with most of us is that we feel we do not have what it takes to start. However, God will never allow things to degenerate around us to the point where He has nothing with which to move us to the next phase of our breakthrough. There will always be a seed in your life that God will use to meet the need of your life. There is a miracle around you waiting to be discovered. However, it is in the potential form.

For as long as you hold the belief that what you need to start is what you do not have, you will not start. And of course you cannot finish what you have not started. If you start early, you can finish early. But if you start late, you will finish late, if at all you still have enough time to finish.

I will be most fulfilled if after you have read this article, YOU START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

2 KINGS 4:1-7
“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbours empty vessels; do not gather just few.

And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”  And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

What do you do when you face crisis in life?
What do you do when you face seemingly insurmountable obstacles, the loss of job, a crumbling marriage or failing health? It may be when you just cannot cope with the bills. What do you do when you do not know what to do?

The widow in the above quoted bible passage ran to the man of God. This was a woman in a desperate financial situation. She was in a season of change; a season of fire. Her husband had just died. He left little or no assets. In fact he left liabilities. He owned so much money that his creditors refused to forgive him, even in death. They were about to take her two sons as slaves until she was able to pay up the debts.

It is puzzling the way the wind of change blows sometimes. The death of a breadwinner, downturn in the national economy, the loss of job or failure in business can sometimes result in deep financial crisis. The most constant thing in life is change.

We cannot stop the imminence of change, but we can decide our response to it. We fly of crawl in life depending on our attitude to change. So I ask you today, what do you do when you do not know what to do, in desperate situations or in your own season of change? This widow in her own case ran to the man of God.

What you need in a time of desperate need is a word from God. One word from God can turn your life around.

OPTIMIZING YOUR SENSEFICATE - BEYOND SCHOOL ( My Latest Book )

Chapter 4, Page 48:  OPTIMIZING YOUR SENSEFICATE

Act your Certificate with Common Sense

Success in Life goes beyond school, it requires Strategy. Equip yourself with Skills and necessary Information.
There are two kinds of people in this world, those who live their life by default and those living by design.
It is not good to live by default, but better to live by design. Living by DESIGN is a choice to be made by every individual. To live by default speak volume of a GRADUATE who has been to school to be educated and after school, all he/she know is the course or subject he/she studied and nothing else while a person living by design is such an individual who also, probably GRADUATED from an institution with a particular course but did not limit himself/herself to what he studied by REDEFINING himself / herself through Up-to-date INFORMATION. “Until you are Current, you are not Correct”.

If you visit a NOKIA Shop to purchase a phone manufactured by Nokia and you try to browse through the TONE, you will find out that the phone will come along with a DEFAULT Ring tones which you may not admire. It would be left for you to DESIGN your own Choice of Tone or Music.

You must be STRATEGIC in your living. Strategy is a PLAN, SKILL and ACTION.
Why do I need Strategy? Life is WARFARE (Battle Field) and we need to fight the battle of life.
Life will always want to PUSH you down. You have to FIGHT to be on the top. “You need Strategy to win the battle of life”. Life is a mirror; it will give you exactly what you give to it. STRATEGY is one of the Secrets to Life Success.

POINTS TO NOTE:
- Don’t live LIFE just anyhow. A life where anything goes is a life that goes nowhere.
- There is nothing that can not be achieved by STRATEGY.
Strategy is so important in life. “LIFE is Simple if we know the Secret”.
- The People who win in life always have a Strategy.

The fundamental factor to Success in life is the ability to sell your IDEAS to others, and this requires COMMON SENSE. “SENSEficate not CERTificate”.
You cannot become a Success, if you carry the MINDSET of a mediocre. The starting point to achieving SUCCESS is to sitdown and THINK. You need your Sense to think..!
